We fix the product type, texture, scent direction, packaging and the ingredients to avoid, so no later round is spent guessing.

Starting formula within 48 hours

A theoretical starting formula with the reason for every ingredient in it, written before any sample is made.

Draft US ingredient list within 48 hours

Written the way a US label lists it, so your packaging artwork can start while the samples are made.

Sample round one

Made in South Africa to the starting formula and sent to you by insured air freight, for testing against the brief.

Sample round two

Adjusted from your written feedback on round one: texture, scent, feel or all three.

Production route and documentation list

How the product would be made, filled and checked, and the documents it ships with, so a first run can be quoted without a second project.

Five steps, in order, from brief to production route.

The fixed points are day 1 and the 48-hour formula. The sample rounds depend on how fast you test and reply, which is why we ask for written feedback within days, not weeks.

The Sprint is one product. A second product is a second Sprint, so each one keeps its own two-week clock.

You tell us the customer, the format, the feel, the scent and the exclusions. We say what is feasible before any work starts.
WITHIN 48 HOURS
Starting formula and draft US ingredient list
You receive the theoretical starting formula with a note on why each ingredient is there, and the draft ingredient list for your label.
SAMPLE ROUND ONE
First sample
We make the first sample to the starting formula and ship it to you. You test it against the brief and send written feedback.
SAMPLE ROUND TWO
Adjusted sample
We adjust texture, scent or feel from your feedback and ship the second sample.
END OF WEEK TWO
Production route and documentation list
You receive the written production route and the documentation list. A first production run is quoted separately, in writing, if you want one.

Products that are not tallow-based. We are a tallow-only manufacturer, so the Sprint covers tallow products only.

Projects that need completed stability or claims testing inside the two weeks. The Sprint delivers the formula, samples and route; testing is planned from there.

Common questions about the Formula Sprint.

What does the Formula Sprint cost?

Pricing is confirmed in your written proposal after the brief call. Because the scope is fixed, the proposal states one figure for the whole engagement, and anything outside that scope is quoted separately before it is done. We do not publish the figure here because the oils, scent and packaging you choose change the work involved.

Do I own the formula at the end?

Ownership is set in the written agreement before the Sprint starts: formula ownership, manufacturing rights, exclusivity and confidentiality. We put it in writing because a custom formula creates value, and the word custom does not settle who holds it.

Where are the samples made, and how do they reach me?

Samples are made in South Africa by Grass Fed Essentials (Pty) Ltd, in an FDA-registered facility with a quality system being built to ISO 22716. They are sent to you by insured air freight with import duties handled. United States commercial support runs through Grass Fed Essentials LLC in Wyoming; we do not manufacture in the United States.

What happens after the two weeks?

You hold a starting formula refined through two sample rounds, a written production route and a documentation list. If you want a first production run, we quote it in writing. If the product needs more rounds, the work continues as a standard custom formulation project with its own written scope.
